Groningers for Peace – actively working for peace

We work for peace by learning how to live non-violently and resolve conflicts peacefully, and we want to inspire others to do the same. In the past, we did this by organizing film evenings, book discussions, and offering workshops and training sessions in Nonviolent Communication.

Nowadays we do it by organizing Peace Manifestations ourselves and by participating in activities of others, such as demonstrations, protest actions, and vigils. In addition, we like to publicize peace-loving activities.

See “Actueel” for upcoming peace actions in Groningen City & Surrounding Area.

With our Peace Manifestations, we want to send a signal to the Dutch government that we want them to comply with all peace treaties that the Netherlands has signed regarding human rights, war and genocide – regardless of which government those treaties were concluded with.

Additionally, we want our Peace Manifestations to show that it’s normal to work for peace, for everyone, without distinction.

That’s why we ask everyone to leave national flags, party buttons, etc. at home and to walk with us with peace texts, peace symbols, and peace flags, in ordinary clothing: here are people who want peace – origin, political background, or religious conviction do not matter in this context.
